Passionspiele Oberammergau 2022
They take place every ten years: the Passion Play in Oberammergau. The performance in 2020 was postponed - but in 2022 it was time again. To keep the "old" rhythm again, the next Passion Play will take place in 2030 - so "already" in eight years.
To put an end to the plague misery, the Oberammergauers swore in 1633 to perform the suffering of Christ every ten years. The first performance took place the following year - and in 2022 for the 42nd time.
